Top 10 U.S. Summer Destinations

We are so stoked for a Pura Vida summer, and as you know, we are all about the warm sunshine, long drives, and discovering new places – every chance we get! Road trips are one of our favorite ways to get outside and explore local (and not so local) spots. Best part is that you’ll always have a good time, regardless of whether you’re with friends, family, pets, or even just yourself. Peek below at our top 10 favorite places to road trip in the US! Hopefully this inspires you. 🌞

1. Acadia National Park, Maine

If ya love hiking, this place is for you! Known as the “Crown Jewel” of the North Atlantic Coast, Acadia National Park is full of incredible natural beauty, stunning landscapes and diverse wildlife. With over 120 miles of hiking trails, there’s truly a hike for everyone – from beginners to the most advanced. Let’s just say, it’s an epic outdoor playground! Don't forget to bring along your National Parks Tee to get in the spirit!

2. Catalina Island, California

A little piece of Europe in California? Count us in! Only a quick 1-hour boat ride from Los Angeles (or a 15-minute helicopter ride), Catalina is a dreamy paradise of pastel houses, divine restaurants, and luscious hikes. Whether you’re looking for a luxurious weekend getaway or an itinerary full of adventures, a weekend on Catalina Island offers it all. Make sure to pack your Puka Shell Stretch Anklet, it will definitely make you feel like an island princess for the day.

3. Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona

Desert trips mean heat so we are bringing along our Easy Come Easy Go Tank on this adventure! A skip away from us in California is one of the world’s most beautiful parks. The size and scale of the canyon is nearly impossible to put into words. Covering over 2,000 square miles (larger than the state of Rhode Island!), the Grand Canyon National Park offers something for everyone from helicoptering and ziplining to whitewater rafting and shopping at the local Native American Flea Market. Truly an experience unlike any other!

4. Nantucket, Massachusetts

One of our favorite secret places, Nantucket is a charming town on a small New England island - full of grey shingled cottages, sandy beaches and incredible lobster. Some of the best things to do here include biking around the island, shopping in the adorable downtown stores, visiting the whaling museum, checking out the Sconset Bluff Walk, hunting for lighthouses… and of course, indulging in the most delicious seafood dishes. We recommend bringing along our Glass Butterfly Drop Earrings for all the cottage town vibes!

5. Jackson, Wyoming

Surrounded by jagged mountain peaks, Jackson Hole is the epitome of adventure and rugged wild west beauty. With Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park, there’s no shortage of activities – visit Old Faithful, swim in famous waterfalls, float down the Snake River, horseback ride and see wildlife on natural history safaris. We have our cowboy hats packed and are ready to hit the road!

6. Block Island, Rhode Island

If busy beach destinations aren’t your thing, try Block Island. This small coastal town offers pristine, relaxing beaches. Check out the Mohegan Bluffs for spectacular ocean views, then descend more than 100 stairs to be treated to a secluded beach haven (the perfect place to wear our Floating Gemstone Anklet to give all the mermaid vibes). The island is also only 7 miles long and 3 miles wide, so it’s easy to explore on foot or bike – no car needed!

7. San Francisco, California

San Francisco is known for its beautiful architecture, diverse neighborhoods, and iconic sights. There are so many things to do here – the hardest part is trying to pick what to do! Some of our favorites include walking across the Golden Gate Bridge, picnicking in Dolores Park, driving down the crooked part of Lombard Street, riding a cable car, doing the audio tour at Alcatraz, and singing along to a movie at the Castro Theater… and honestly, we could keep going and going and going with suggestions. Since California is known for its pretty wildflowers we packed along our Solstice Enamel Flower Ring & our Daisy Resin Ring. If you haven’t yet been to San Francisco, make it a priority. We promise it won’t disappoint!

8. Assateague Island, Maryland & Virginia

This place is for all you horse lovers. Assateague Island has sandy beaches, salt marshes and maritime forests, but its untamed horses are the main draw. Yes, you heard that right – this is one of the few places in the U.S. where visitors can see horses roam freely. We have our Surf Academy Tee packed and ready to go for this one!

9. Fire Island, New York

Fire Island is only open during the summertime (Memorial Day through Labor Day), making it the literal perfect spot to be during the summer. It is a barrier island off the main island of Long Island, and it is only accessible by boat. No cars are allowed so walking is your best option. The primary draw of Fire Island is the beach but other attractions include the Fire Island Lighthouse and the Sunken Forest. This place is perfect for families or friends looking to have a fun day of adventure!

10. Olympic Peninsula Loop, Washington

If you love scenic drives, then this is definitely for you! The Olympic Peninsula Loop passes by the most stunning waterfalls, mountains, and even some wildlife. This route can be traveled across in three days or can be extended into a long vacation for those who need a little extra time to relax. Regardless of how long you choose to make this trip, it’s definitely one for the books!
