Hey PV fam, it’s time to give your old denim a new life
We all know (and love) “spring cleaning,” but fall can be the perfect time to recycle your old denim apparel! That’s why we’re holding a…..drumroll please…..DENIM DRIVE (with the help of our friends over at Cotton's Blue Jeans Go Green™ program)!
By recycling your old denim, you’ll be helping divert textile waste from landfills. Since authentic denim is made from cotton (a sustainable fiber), it can be broken down to its natural state, recycled, and transformed in a multitude of ways, like into natural cotton fiber insulation. Every piece of denim makes a difference!
Ready to get going? We’ve outlined the easy steps for you below:
1. Go through your closet and grab any denim you don’t wear anymore!
This can include scraps of denim, or even denim with holes, tears, or stains – we want it all! You can recycle any type of denim apparel, including jeans, jackets, shirts, skirts, and more (as long as they’re 90% or more cotton). Your pieces can be colored, embellished, and/or printed.
2. Bring your denim to the nearest Pura Vida Retail Store between 11/14 & 11/20.
Store locations include:
- La Jolla (Westfield UTC) 4485 La Jolla Village Dr Suite F3A, San Diego, CA 92122
- Irvine (Irvine Spectrum) 746 Spectrum Center Dr Suite 746, Irvine, CA 92618
- Myrtle Beach (Broadway at the Beach) 1183 Celebrity Cir #410, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577
- Gilbert (San Tan Village) 2218 E Williams Field Rd suite 412, Gilbert, AZ 85295
- Camarillo (Camarillo Premium Outlets) 910 Camarillo Center SP #834 Camarillo, CA 93010
3. Put your denim in the bin collection station and score $5 off all Pura Vida apparel as a reward (oh yeah, we did that)!
Can’t contribute to the drive? Don’t fret, we’ve compiled a list of unique ways you can recycle your old denim below! And don’t forget to shop any of our sustainable tees that are all 100% cotton!
