Our ninth stop on this year’s Live Free Tour across the country transports us through the endless red rock and sand dunes of Zion National Park in Utah. Located about 300 miles outside of Salt Lake City, Zion expands over 220 square miles and reaches depths of over 6,000 feet. 😳 Nestled within those preserved lands lies Under Canvas, a resort that offers a luxurious and immersive glamping experience that allows you to connect with nature and enjoy the great outdoors without sacrificing comfort. Follow along as we recount our adventures through the park with the amazing accommodations of Under Canvas as our base camp.
The Under Canvas grounds sit about 20 miles from the Zion Park entrance, so we kicked off day one making the trip over, getting settled, and retrieving our park passes. Once secured, we were able to explore the park for a few hours before heading to Zion Pizza & Noodle Co. for a quick bite. 🍕🍜 Once fueled, we rented e-bikes from Zion Guru that allowed us to see the park from a whole new POV. The views were so scenic and the adrenaline of riding the bikes made for an electric experience through the trails. Night one capped off an amazing start to the trip with some stargazing back at camp. 🌌
Day two was off to a wholesome start with an early morning yoga class with Under Canvas. Once we achieved peak Zen, we rented sandboards at our next sightseeing venture: the Coral Pink Sand Dunes. This park is the only major sand dune field on the Colorado Plateau and features pink-hued sand dunes huddled in the shadows of red sandstone cliffs. We had SO much fun shredding some sand and getting to know one another in such a uniquely beautiful setting. The day two adventures didn’t stop there: afterwards, we took it up a notch by off-roading over to the iconic Slot Canyons of Zion for a canyoning tour with ROAM. After galavanting through and over the mixed terrain of the park, it was time to catch dinner and venture outside of the park to chase sunsets. 🌅
Our last full day on-site started off with a group breakfast at camp and stocking up on snacks and stacks of our Fall Mystics and Men’s Collections. Once decked, we were ready to take on hiking the iconic Zion Narrows. This gorge is the narrowest part of the whole park, with walls over a thousand feet tall and river points just twenty to thirty feet wide. This made for some epic photos captured and memories made before heading back to camp to relax pre-dinner. We enjoyed delicious food and amazing views at King’s Landing Bistro before firing up some s’mores at the Under Canvas fire pits and calling it a night. 🔥🪵
The amazing guests we had on this trip made for such an incredible experience that we wish we could relive over and over again. Thanks to Anna Leigh Wilson, Shylee Stocks, Tanner Myatt, and Micah Lyons for joining in on the fun and capturing INCREDIBLE content along the way. 📸 And, of course, a huge thank you to Under Canvas Zion for having us and hosting an unforgettable trip.
