Happy International Women’s Day! 💕 This year, we’re beyond honored to highlight an incredible organization, New Hope Girls. The women behind New Hope Girls are committed to fighting the trafficking and exploitation of girls by providing rescue, refuge and restoration. Based in the Dominican Republic, the New Hope Girls workshop creates handbags and other specialty goods crafted by artisans living and working locally.
With each bag sold, New Hope Girls works alongside local officials to rescue and advocate for girls by providing safe housing and meeting their physical, emotional, spiritual, judicial, therapeutic, and academic needs. Through their efforts, the organization has rescued and cared for 27 young girls across three homes, including their new University Home, designed for women transitioning to adulthood.
Pura Vida is so proud to partner with the women of NHG to launch a new design directly benefiting the important work this organization does, day in and day out. New Hope Girls is one of the many women-focused causes close to our hearts here at Pura Vida. To date, we’ve donated more than $238,000 to women-focused causes and we can’t wait to continue watching that number grow! ❤️

It's one of the most important holidays - I am so glad people are beginning to truly celebrate it. I am honored and it makes me feel seen and important. It's a day to celebrate women all over the world.
It's for the woman. It's for all the women. The warrior, luchadora, mother, wife, nurse, daughter, sister, do-it-all-and-get-it-done woman.
Everything I never had, I can now freely give.
My rescue came later in life and I pray that because of New Hope Girls we will get to them sooner.

It's amazing to watch a new generation of girls joining New Hope Girls. I know that I have to stay involved - it takes all of us. Everyone has a role in helping girls and women be everything they were created to be.

Before working at New Hope I didn't even think of this as a holiday. But now it is an important day we celebrate! It is not only International Women's Day, it is the day of New Hope. Today we celebrate how far we've come and all we have overcome - 12 years of rescuing girls and empowering women.
