Can you believe we’re just a few short weeks away from May?! 🗓️ If you didn’t know, May is Mental Health Awareness Month. It’s a great opportunity to share awareness of the importance of mental wellness in our lives and to celebrate recovery from mental illness.
We’re so honored to spend this May ringing in another year of partnership with Mental Health America, an incredible organization dedicated to the promotion of mental health, well-being, and illness prevention through work that is informed, designed, and led by the lived experience of those most affected. 🧠
Together, Pura Vida and Mental Health America collaborated on a collection of 14 new pieces designed through a lens of mindfulness, including the latest iteration of the fan-favorite fidget ring. These pieces aim to put mental wellness and self-kindness at the forefront while giving back to the important mission of the nation's leading mental health nonprofit. When you shop today, 5% of the proceeds from each purchase is directly donated to Mental Health America.
To celebrate our continued partnership, and in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, we’ve asked some of our favorite PV peeps to give us the low down on their top self care tips and the steps they take to care for their mental health:

I take care of my mental health by taking care of myself first. I make sure that I have my personal space clean and organized while having my spiritual space in balance by practicing yoga, running, going on a walk, or just getting OUTSIDE to relieve stress and increase endorphins. ☀️
I fuel my body with foods that I know will make me feel better and listen to the cues my body gives me. I believe that social connection plays a huge role in mental health. We are social beings, so reaching out to connect or help friends/family always helps to get me out of my head and bring me back down to earth.

I used to struggle a lot with my mental health, which is why I now make it a priority to l do something for my mind every day! Whether it’s moving my body in some way to boost serotonin levels, journaling to take a step back, reflect, and get in touch with my mind, or spending time with loved ones to remind myself that I’m loved and have a great support system. 🫶
My favorite activities are playing beach volleyball with my friends and surfing. They help me get outside while moving my body and spending time unplugged with friends. To minimize stress, I also make to-do lists, keep up to date with my schedule, and wear a fidget ring from Pura Vida every day to help ensure I pay attention in meetings!

As someone who has experienced burnout, my mental health is now one of my top priorities! One thing I do to take care of my mental health is make time for things that bring me peace. Even with a busy schedule, I make sure to fit in time to watch a sunset at the beach, book a massage, or sit in nature every once in a while. Another way I take care of my mental health is by keeping a mindfulness/gratitude journal. It's so easy to get caught up in all the things that are going wrong, so having a place to express all the things I am grateful for helps keep me grounded.
My favorite activity for releasing stress is yoga, you can find me in the yoga studio at least twice a week! Yin yoga specifically is great for improving self-awareness and emotional balance. 🧘♀️

I take care of my mental health by going to hot yoga and going on runs helps me clear my head and keep myself on track for the week, mentally. I enjoy cooking at home during the week to make sure my body is full of healthy whole foods and ingredients. There's also nothing an ocean dip can't fix. 🌊

A few things I do for my mental health include physical activities such as running, exploring nearby beaches, or playing pickleball. They’re my go-to strategy for managing my anxiety and stress levels. The distraction and sense of achievement always help me calm down and feel balanced again.
